Updates from Laurie Callahan at York County Invasive Aquatic Species Project
Greetings all!
Hope some of you have been able to get out on the water for some early season enjoyment and stewardship of your favorite waterbodies!
Some of us have already started our on-the-water aquatic plant and invasive aquatic plant screening surveys this season. In spite of many cool, cloudy and windy days we have been having, native aquatic plants are emerging, some invasive aquatic plant species have started their vigorous growth and cyanobacteria has been appearing at some waterbodies.
Please see below for some upcoming 2025 IPP training events happening in York County, some links to recordings of informational and training opportunities that occurred earlier this spring and also for info about/to register for the annual Maine Lakes Conference on June 13th.
Feel free to post or forward this info.
As always, I hope to see many of you soon at some of the upcoming events!
Best regards,
Laurie Callahan, Aquatic Biologist
YCIASP Founder & Coordinator
